However, Jagex swiftly resolved these issues by fixing server problems and introducing additional event worlds to accommodate the influx of players.
Amidst these adjustments, the classic MMORPG witnessed a resurgence in popularity as more players flocked to experience the highly anticipated game mode’s return. Jagex, the game’s developer, reported unprecedented player numbers just a day after the Trailblazer Reloaded launch, reaching a peak of approximately 190,000 concurrent players during a Wednesday afternoon.
Expressing their astonishment, Jagex tweeted, “Surreal to think that 10 years later we’re still breaking record numbers of members! Thanks to everyone for playing and enjoy the dopamine over the next few weeks.”
Addressing some technical issues, the development team swiftly rectified a bug that hindered alchemy spells from generating gold and resolved a Treasure Seeker exploit. This exploit allowed players to exploit a large number of bugged casket rewards simultaneously. The ill-gotten rewards were rolled back, and players engaging in this exploit faced appropriate consequences.
Explaining their actions, Jagex stated, “Players opening in excess of 50 caskets (all the way up to beyond 1,000) will receive temporary bans and also have log slots wiped + clue items removed. They’ll be able to participate in the League on another account, but we believe other players should have a chance to catch up and feel that players opening hundreds of bugged caskets knew to some extent that what they were doing wasn’t expected behavior.”
