We have a lot to look forward to! Samsung is set to significantly improve one of the key features of the Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Samsung plans to replace one of the telephoto lenses after a long time
- Instead of 3x, we should see 5x optical zoom
- In the same vein as this year, we can confidently anticipate the presence of a resolute 200-megapixel primary sensor.
Samsung is preparing big changes to the cameras on its Galaxy S Ultra series. The upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will reportedly bring the biggest innovation in this area in years. According to the latest information, the new flagship will feature a telephoto lens with better optical zoom than its predecessors.
We’ve been used to a pair of 10Mpx telephoto lenses with 3x and 10x zooms for several years now, and we’ll find the same setup on this year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, it is speculated that the South Korean firm has decided to replace the first mentioned lens with a new one that will offer a 5x optical zoom and is expected to make its first appearance next year in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Unfortunately, we don’t have further details about the sensors, but we can expect them to appear at the end of this year. As for the main sensor, you can again count on a resolution of 200 megapixels.
Naturally, this tidbit of information ought to be savored with a pinch of skepticism. We’re still more than half a year away from the official unveiling, and Samsung may change its decision a few more times.
How excited are you for Samsung’s next Ultra?
